(The Merchant)

I stood at this door
a long time….

The ones I picked before
A fading memory
Of leading an army to take the Fortress and man it….
Until only I was left to watch the dark hole in the ground.
It grew,
And
grew,
All Night,
You can’t see the other side.
Then I said, “Let There Be Light”,
and the Abyss
disappeared.

Indecisive,
I did not know what to do.
Because this was
Scarier
than the Abyss, and
I ran back to that Darkness.

But you can’t run forever,
Delusional,
nor
unKnow what you Know.
That the Darkness wasn’t there
in the first place
and you it’s Creator.

And now I’m at this stupid door,
willing myself to go Through.
